Living Proof Advocacy was founded by Tim Cage and John Capecci, who met more than 20 years ago in a graduate school course about the power of stories told out loud. Since then, they’ve helped thousands of advocates and hundreds of organizations share their stories to increase awareness, educate others, create change or raise funds. Tim and John are also co-authors of Living Proof: Telling Your Story to Make a Difference.
Tim Cage, senior coach & cofounder
For more than 20 years, Tim has coached and consulted with celebrities, sports stars, business owners, thought leaders and everyday advocates with extraordinary passions.
Tim brings a keen understanding of public relations, media, presentation skills and how high-profile spokespersons use their stories to make an impact.
John Capecci, Senior Coach & Cofounder
John is a coach, consultant and writer who has helped hundreds of nonprofits and corporations do award-winning work that touches hearts and turns heads.
John excels at helping mission-driven organizations hone their messaging and create powerful advocates to support those messages with their stories.
We operate with the support of a dedicated team of contracted specialists and project-based consultants who align with and share our mission and values. Their expertise enables us to thrive and grow.
Tami sprY, coach
Tami's national and international publication and performance work focuses on issues of race, gender violence, mental health and loss. As an advocacy coach and experienced educator, she specializes in these issues as well those impacting women and girls, social and environmental justice, the arts and more.
Lisa samra, coach
Lisa has helped speakers of all ages and experience levels explore public speaking, communication and performance studies to find their voices and impact audiences. She has directed and performed in stage productions in and around Chicago, and is lead instructor of Performance and Communication Arts at Triton College (Ill.)

Katy is a social media and content strategist, educator, and marketing consultant who helps us tell the stories of our clients, advocates and educators.

Bev Bachel, writer
Bev is a content strategist, freelance writer and author who ensures that our communications—and those of our clients—are sharp, clear, compelling and engaging. She helps both individuals and organizations share their stories and advocates for both teens and older adults.
ZEB SCANLAn, UX/UI CONSULTANT
Zeb is a UX/UI designer with a background in communication studies. He’s whipping our online presence into accessible shape, assists with all things user-experience and reminds us to pick up a kettle-bell every now and then (and eat clean).
