LPA BEYOND 2024: Celebrating and Fighting for the Arts and Humanities

Academic programs in the arts and humanities are being axed all across the U.S.: visual arts, drama, music, literature, philosophy, foreign languages, history—subjects of study that help us think logically, creatively and critically about the world and the world around us.

As two proud products of liberal arts schooling (and cofounders of Living Proof Advocacy) we’re therefore excited to focus this year’s LPA BEYOND pro bono support on organizations in the arts and humanities.

We are living proof of the value of the arts and humanities, and are fortunate that we received schooling that did not see business and marketing courses at odds with classwork in English, literature and performance, where speech team and theatre co-curricular activities prepared us for job interviews (and career advancement) as much as our courses in resume-writing and organizational communication.

From now through September 15, we’re taking applications (and nominations) of arts and humanities organizations that could benefit from pro bono support from us. The only requirement is that applying organizations are in some way amplifying the stories of lived experience as part of their work. We’ll then choose two or three organizations at random to support during the month of October, which is Arts and Humanities Month.

Do you know an organization in the arts and humanities that could use free support in sharing personal stories of why the arts and humanities are worth fighting for? Share this opportunity!

Organizations may apply—or be nominated—for free support here.
